Code of Conduct
1. Respect Your Elders - Everyone is to respect their elders whether they are leaders or helpers.
"You younger men(and women), follow the leadership of those who are older. And all of you serve each other with humble spirits, for God gives special blessings to those who are humble, but sets himself against those who are proud. 1 Peter 5:5"
2. Modest Dress - All dress of parents and youth should be modest with no short-shorts or revealing tops. Be sensitive in clothing with secular designs and messages.
And the women should be the same way, quiet and sensible in manner and clothing. Christian women should be noticed for being kind and good, not for the way they fix their hair or because of their jewels or fancy clothes.
1Timothy 2:9"
3. Christ-like Speech - No lewd or vulgar speech, or cursing.
"Don't use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing. Ephesians 4:29"
4. Attitude Toward Others - Respect each other; no teasing or ridicule of others about their personal beliefs, weight, glasses, etc. Encourage and support each other in love.
"Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the kind shown us by Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:3-5"
5. Personal Relationships - Boyfriend/girlfriend public displays of affection are not appropriate at Legacy Connections functions.
"1 Timothy 4:12"
6. Respect for Church Building and Public Property - Everyone is expected to show responsibility for the facility we use. Thank those who show hospitality toward us. Notify a leader immediately if there is any damage, especially vandalism. No littering please.
"Do for others what you want them to do for you. This is the teaching of the laws of Moses in a nutshell. Matthew 7:12"
7. Resolve Conflicts - Resolve all conflicts in a Christ-like manner based upon Biblical principles. If we are offended or offend someone else, we are to go directly to that person and make it right. Don't discuss your conflicts with uninvolved parties.
"Matthew 18:15-17"
8. Personal Example - No smoking or use of any tobacco products; no use or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs. No thefts.
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1 Timothy 4:12-13"
